Pack 222 conducts an annual program comprised of two types meetings. Den meetings provide an opportunity for age-similar youth to work on age-appropriate activities. These meetings are typically held on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm. Pack meetings bring all dens and leaders together for a monthly meeting that often includes a theme and special activities. Pack meetings are typically held monthly on the fourth Thursday at 7:00 pm.Â
The Pack Committee meets on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm to plan Pack activities. Cub Scouts is driven by parents, so it is imperative for the committee to have parental involvement.
In addition to these meetings, the Pack also participates in a number of "extracurricular" activities such as a spring and fall camp-out, annual fishing derby, and Pinewood Derby race. The Pack also attends a three-day summer camp at Quivira Scout Ranch near Sedan, Kansas.
The Pack prefers to participate in fun activities and events instead of fundraising. To that end, the Pack only plans on one fundraising event each year and participates in the Quivira Council's annual Pecatonica Popcorn Sale. Proceeds help individual Cub Scouts participate in our program and help the Pack cover its operating expenses.
